Today we visited the Water School (managed by Pete Leki), Uncommon Ground Restaurant on Devon St, the site of the first certified organic rooftop farm in the country, the Chicago Honey Coop (managed by Michael Anderson), the Nowickis in Downers Grove, and Global Hope, four acres of allotments, also in Downers Grove.

We are now moving into settlement: making compost and comfrey tea, shooting contours and site planning.

We are winding up the hunter-gatherer portion of our course and ready to move into settlement and agriculture. Today we had a bit of pastoralism even though it was only the lowly bird: CHICKEN!
