This is an inspiring video in terms of the creativity expressed for developing low tech implements. If we could, as designers, think in these terms of what we have at hand it would be a boon for shrinking our out-of-control footprint and bringing it all back home…

Burns and other experts are incorrect. Rather than green tech being made to fit into the growth-oriented economy, green tech and appropriate technology make possible the transition to a steady state or non-growth-based economy. Having to fit into the growth economy should be seen as a worst case option, not the default.
This is the framing that we must adhere to and work toward.

Agreed Killian. What I really want to bring out is the create aspect of this in my hopes that folks will dig deep, design and implement.
