We are at the height of summer and the yard is abundant with food, medicine, utility and biomass. This is our third year in the yard and we are letting the plants take over and do the work of creating fertility and sequestering carbon. The chickens are producing eggs galore. Creating a report to take to the city council to get miniature goats (Nigerian dwarfs) hopefully for next year: milk, cheese and yogurt in our future. Eggs, vegetables, fruits and nuts, and using our new oil press. Who needs grains. Acorns coming soon. A diversity of “wild” species for the taking all over town. Trapping squirrels anyone?
