Arizona – 2010
In January of 2010 my wife, daughter, and myself, made what has become an annual pilgrimage to the Tucson area of Arizona. I feel that those of us who practice the art of Permaculture will see these images as an exceptional depiction of a drylands environment that fosters an intact and continuous Native history. The Sonoran Desert is rich in diversity, plant and animal, and a geological dimension that we don’t often see in the Midwest, which is hidden by vegetation. We visited Sabino Canyon and Mt Lemon outside Tucson proper, the Tucson Botanical Gardens, the Sonoran Desert Museum, and assorted other sites. Please enjoy the beauty and majesty of this rich and subtle landscape.
