City Museum

The City Museum in downtown St Louis is the consummate recycled, architectural wonder. Built entirely out of used industrial equipment and old spare parts from countless landfills, abandoned buildings and dumpsters this is the ultimate playground for kids of all ages. The artists, sculptors, welders, carpenters and ceramicists that created this work of art are the essence of creativity utilizing our greatest natural resource of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries: JUNK. Located in an old shoelace factory, it is worth a day-long trek through the countless mazes, sliding boards, airplanes and fire engines, perched outdoors high above the street, and much more.
