In February of 2010 we held our first winter Permaculture Design Certificate course at Stelle, Illinois. Our students designed a large site for the Center for Sustainable Community that already supported an old apple orchard, vegetable gardens, an active chicken coop, a greenhouse and housing for alcohol and biodiesel production equipment. I would like to thank all of our students for working so assiduously and seeing the design all the way through. The final site plan was drafted by Jesse Tinges. Instructors: Wayne Weiseman and Bill Wilson.

The Students divided into three different groups to work on different “Areas” of the design. Area 1 is the section East of the pond, Area 2 is from the East edge of the pond to the creek, and Area 3 is the North side of the creek.
