A recent article in the Boston Globe about dumpster diving for food, if one can stomach the concept, so to speak, affords us yet another opportunity for urban foraging. For all of us folks working the Permaculture system here is a way to augment our yields. I spent years living in NYC and witnessed countless reams of one-day old food being delivered to dumpsters. I was always astounded by the amount of “waste” in this. Not only can we find food at the dumpster, but we may find materials for all sorts of projects.
