From Landform (topography) to finished site, students construct a working model of an ecologically sound rural, suburban, or urban land base: climate, landform, water, access and circulation, microclimate, plants and animals, the built environment, zones of use, soils and fertility, cultural, economic, social, political, economic, spiritual spheres. This process is based on the City Building Curriculum of Doreen Nelson where students build a scaled, working model of a site after establishing goals and timelines, and initiating solutions through comprehensive master planning: establishing criteria for a sustainable and self-reliant lifestyle. For architects, designers, landscape architects, landscapers, homeowners, homesteaders, etc.
