Dear Bill and Wayne –
I’ve been back a week and am still reveling in the incredible experiences of my 2 week permaculture course. Your passion and knowledge of the subject matter are infectious and my main challenge is to share with loved ones in a skillful way, and not scare them away with all my permaculture stories. The work week was great to help reinforce the theoretical learning. It was nice to think that all the rain this week will be held longer in the ashram’s soil as a result of our design and physical efforts.
The copious amounts of pre and post training reference materials will keep me busy for months, and I have never been so excited about studying and learning new things. Though the course presents a somberly realistic picture of the dire state of the world’s natural and economic resources, I came away from the time with a feeling of incredible hope. The inspiring stories of individuals and communities you shared show our human capacity to find creative solutions to the problems we face. This collective inspiration and positive creativity is what is needed to help bring society out of the mess we have created for ourselves.
Thank you for your passion, your humor and for inspiring us to spread the permaculture gospel. I know it will be a major part of my next steps. Once I know how, where and when — I’ll let you know.
Much love,
Maria
