Here is an interesting link to a magazine that is filled with ideas about how to do this thing with low tech “alternatives”. This all makes so much sense for those of us that practice the art of Permaculture and make use of what is in the immediate environment. The goal here is to eliminate as many mechanical and fossil fuel based parts that contribute to the overwhelming complexity of our lives. These gadgets remove us from the natural world where our focus and rigorous study need apply. Remember the Permaculture dictum, “the least amount of change for the greatest effect”. This magazine is a fantastic resource for ideas in which we can base how we put our lives together. If we can take these templates and create out of our budding creative processes then we are on the way to becoming proficient and dexterous designers and doers.
