Dandelion greens are superb at this time of year. As are black mustard blossoms and greens. The willows are flowering next to the green ash trees down by the swamp. And there are tracks everywhere: coyote, coon, deer. Spring beauty bulbs are delicious. And the redbud blossoms are sweet. Paw paw flowers smell musty and are pollinated by flies. The trilliums and the dogwoods! Mayapples! Skipping stones. Concentric circles billowing out on the surface of the water. Patterns abound. A kid’s paradise! This kid especially.
