Just sat through 60-80 MPH winds, booming thunder, extravagant lightning and the majesty and power of a storm. Our young fruit and nut trees swayed gracefully in the high winds. The lightning will leave a trail of nitrogen for spring, green growth. With house lights flickering I stood by the front door amazed and in awe. Yes, we are this fragile, and the power of the skies and clouds and rains dwarf us as though we are minute enough to sit on the end of a pin in the wider context of it all. Why take any of this life for granted? Why continue to choose a path of degradation and addiction for things that will blow away in an instant under a swirling mix of “weather”? The hail just might leave a bunch of dents on the hood of the car. So be it…
