Senator Al Gore and Dwight D. Eisenhower were responsible for initiating the building of 44,000 miles of highway in America in the 1950’s through the 1980’s. It was Eisenhower who warned about the military-industrial complex and it is Al Gore who is writing books and making movies about climate change. And here I sit in a hotel room in St Louis after driving for two hours and preparing for a 6:00 flight tomorrow in the AM to teach a course on Permaculture. Is there something caddywhampus about this picture? And how inconvenient a truth is this?
