Koinonia Natural Building Workshop in Americus, Georgia

This morning, after lectures on ecological building modalities Cliff Davis, myself, and the students headed out to the site which will become a hybrid, straw-clay, earth-bag, cob building. We will also be constructing a cob oven. After completing our PDC 2011 yesterday we started at 8:30 AM on our next adventure. Most of the initial prep work is complete. Tomorrow we lay in the gravel and tile for the rubble trench footing, stuff earth-bags for the stem wall, complete installing posts, screwing in bamboo, and mixing cob. There is a bit of wiring and framing to complete. This building will include a humanure toilet and storage for tools. Will keep you up to date on our progress.
