Here are some pictures of the two bows that I am making, one oak and one shagbark hickory. I will be backing the oak bow with sinew which comes from near the spine of a deer. This will give the bow more strength and will help keep the bow from following the string. When bent the bow has a tendency to stay bent in the direction of the pull. By backing the bow with sinew it will help to prevent this. I love making this stuff in the Burbs!
