We are designing an educational site for Duke Farms in New Jersey. Duke Farms was owned by Doris Duke, an heir to a tobacco fortune. After she died she put her 270 acres into conservation in perpetuity in order to promote ecological awareness and create a sustainable model. An educational vision, which includes the principles and methodologies of Permaculture, is being set forth. Our design students are working on an area that will consist of community gardens and a Permaculture demonstration site.
