This NY Times article really got to me. Looking at these massive numbers is quite mind-boggling. How much water is required to keep a large city population alive? How much crap have we dumped into the great river systems of the world? Why hasn’t anyone noticed and taken action before all this happens? What is up with this? Why has greed for the “finer things” like power and oodles of money become the standard and what the majority of the population is lead to believe will make one happy? The reality is is that they want you to spend more to keep their lives afloat in gluttony and they put a gold carrot in your face constantly so that you think you are getting somewhere in life and in reality the next 20,000 square foot mansion gets built from the money that you were coerced into spending on the goods that were initially stripped from the earth when it was an innocent “natural resource”.
