This recession is never going to be over because it’s not a financial recession or a recession of productivity. This is an irreversible recession of the functioning of the planet Earth. As such the human economy will have a few ups and downs, improvements, disimprovements, but it’s inevitably a down process until humans begin to see to it that the earth is healed, that the economy of the earth comes back. So long as we try to develop a human economy that doesn’t sit well with the earth economy, we’ll just progressively extinguish our only hope.
