The Center for Alternative Technology has done a superlative service for us all by tracing the water cycle of their community. We should do so in our communities, period. It would reveal much to us in the way we treat this most precious resource and how and where it comes from. If we expand our purview to the entire watershed that we are nested in then it becomes even more revealing. It just might inspire us to change our ways and eliminate impervious surfaces, stop polluting rivers, lakes and oceans, and treasure what little is left of potable water for our survival as a race.
