Here are some pics of the olive oil lamps that I use instead of candles when the grid goes down. Olive oil burns cleanest, but other oils, including rendered animal fat, can be used in a pinch. There is simply a metal holder, positioned inside a jar, with a cotton or hemp string for the wick. This will burn continuously for 9 hours.
