We have finished the major work on the yurt here at Kinstone Academy. Next week we will continue mortaring in log ends on the cordwood chapel with a two day workshop, and the following week we will be building a straw-clay slip cabin with our students at the natural building course. Each year we will construct cabins in different natural building modalities. Although put together with some modern materials the yurt represents an ancient form of nomadic shelter.
